CONDITION: wood case has some scratches. Screw holes on front may indicate a dedication plaque, now removed. Brass clock case is slightly tarnished. Signed black dial is in good condition. Hands have darkened with age. Movement ticks when wound. Box and movement stamped with serial number 572332.

CONDITION: wood case has some scratches and finish loss. Oxidation on box hardware. Phenolic case has typical spotting. Clock hands have darkened. Dial and glass are in good condition. Movement ticks briskly when wound. Key is a replacement. Box and movement are stamped with serial number 613572.

CONDITION: dark patina on this heavy case has mottled lacquer. The brass yacht wheel handles are tarnished, but the silvered dial is very good. One of the handles is brightly polished and is probably a newer replacement. The jeweled movement ticks and strikes but was not tested long term.

DESCRIPTION: Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., deck clock, 8 day, time only, spring-driven jeweled balance wheel movement in a brass case with hinged bezel, 6 inch black dial with white Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds, and Breguet style hands.
CONDITION: The heavy brass case has a slightly foggy finish and very fine scratchs. Case is stamped with a serial number matching the one on the movement. The black dial looks very good. The presence of particles in the dial's black surface suggests that it is not a factory finish. Hands are original with very small cracks in the finish near the center arbor. The signed movement ticks. Movement serial number 59395

Lonergan, Philadelphia, PA, engine room clock, 8 day, time only, spring driven jeweled balance wheel movment in a heavy brass case with hinged bezel, 6.5 inch silvered dial engraved with "Lonergan / Phila.", subsidiary seconds, and blued steel hands, movement serial number 83412.
CONDITION: J.E. Londergan was a prominent manufacturer of brass items for steam and gas engines including pressure gauges, vacuum gauges, hydrolic gauges, revolution counters, and clocks. The heavy brass case has seen some serious use, with black build up around the bezel. The silvered dial has dark tarnish in many place but is still quite legible. The clock will need a new piece of glass cut and fit to the bezel. The hands have lost some of their black finish. The seconds bit is absent. The movement ticks.

Lot also includes a Chelsea barometer with a 4 inch white dial on a dark mahogany stand.
CONDITION: clock has a brass case with a bit of haze from the protective lacquer degrading. Silvered dial and hands are excellent Somewhat uneven finish on the wood base and a dark section on the front where a dedication plaque was removed. Barometer case is bright and excellent white signed dial is in very good condition. Movement serial number 857186. Not exactly a set, but a handsome pair.

CONDITION: Mahogany veneered case in an old finish has a couple repairs on the door. The feet are replaced. Original top has a broken scroll tip, a veneer repair on the left front and one side return is missing. Tablet is replaced, but proper style. Dial looks original, but is in poor condition with flaking and darkened varnish covering. Period hour hand, replaced minute hand. Finials are modern, but proper type. Pendulum bob is period, but not pillar & scroll type. Partial, but readable Terry label inside.

DESCRIPTION: France, figural mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven pendule de Paris movement in a cast metal case mounted on a white marble base with cast gilt feet and applied ornaments, the clock with white enamel dial, polychrome garlands, and Louis XV style hands, all adjacent to the figure of a seated woman reading a book.
CONDITION: The white marble case is in very good condition. Some of the original gilding on ornaments and clock portion is intact. Much of the figure has been touched up with gold paint, but it looks good. Dial, convex beveled glass, and hands are all very good. Back of the case is stamped "Covington, New York" and has an applied medallion indicating that it was a product of France. The unsigned movement has rack strike that sounds on a bell.

DESCRIPTION: French portico clock reproduction, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven over sized French-style movement in a four-column case of variegated gray marble with applied cast gilt ornaments and pendulum, Breguet style hands.
CONDITION: heavy polished marble case is in excellent condition. Chapter lines and numerals on were rather crudely painted. Unsigned movement with lantern pinions strikes on a bell. Castings are of decent quality. The gray and red marble is very pleasing to the eye.

DESCRIPTION: Gebrüder Junghans, Schramberg, Germany, elephant model swinging clock, 8 day, time only, spring driven movement with compound pendulum held aloft by a patinated elephant figure on a molded wood base, the clock case with gilt and patinated surfaces, two-tone Arabic numerals on a white enamel dial with the Junghans star trademark and signed "Junghans Germany" below 6:00, two-tone hands.
CONDITION: Elephant with intact patination and showing a bit of brass at the tusks. The wood base has a few minor scratches and a thin, old finish. The clock case has minor discoloration to surface and gilding. The dial has four fine hairline cracks and very nice hands. The movement is signed and the mainspring contained within a barrel.

DESCRIPTION: Gebrüder Junghans, Schramberg, Germany, mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike with Westminster chime, spring driven movement in a tambour-form mahagony case with an arched silvered dial with Arabic numerals, subsidiary chime/silent selector and rate adjustment, all with with blued steel hands.
CONDITION: The case has an original finish with some minor scratches near the feet and on the back. Silvered dial is good with a bit of a hazy coating, perhaps from polishing. Arched beveled glass is excellent. Blued steel hands are original. Movement is signed with the Junghans trademark as well as "6.14 ". Chime plays on four chime rods and strike sounds on a coiled cathedral gong.

CONDITION: A very nicely made mahogany and mahogany veneered example of this unique clock originally made by Eli Terry. His movement differs in that he used cherry instead of oak for plates. George made 100 of these and this case is stamped "1 ".

CONDITION: Cherry case has scratches in what is left of the finish. Has damage to the throat frame by using screws to hold the frame to the case. A repaired crack in the head. Original zinc dial has scattered loss and inpainting in a large area in the center. Original hands. Bottom weight baffle is missing. Tablets appear replaced. These timepieces usually had black and gilt tablets.

DESCRIPTION: George W. Brown & Co., Forestville, Conn., "Briggs Rotary", 30 hour, spring brass movement rotary pendulum novelty timepiece.
CONDITION: Black painted base has slight damage spot on the outer edge. Paper dial looks to be original and has some surface abrasion caused by the hands. The hands are not the usual type found on these timepieces, but these look old. The nice glass dome may be later, but it fits the base perfectly. This early example was manufactured by toy manufacturer George W. Brown, but later examples of this clock was manufactured by E. N. Welch Mfg. Co.

DESCRIPTION: Harvard Clock Co., Boston, with movement signed by the Boston Clock Co., marine timepiece, 8 day, time only, spring-driven balance wheel movement in a brass case with hinged bezel. The movement is also stamped with the important Dec. 28, 1880 patent date and serial number 1947. It seems likely that the Boston Clock Co. may have been using up dials and cases from its predecessor the Harvard Clock Company.
CONDITION: the hands are mismatched, so at least one is a replacement. Seconds bit is missing. Some glue residue around inside of glass. Hinge is a bit loose. Brass case is tarnished. Movement ticks.

Original painted dial has age darkened with scattered loss around the edges and a spot at 11 o'clock. Wood door bezel has cracked in a couple places. Original carved side arm has damage and repairs. Both tablets are replaced. These timepieces usually had black and gilt glasses. Pendulum hold down is replaced. Hands probably replaced.

CONDITION: The case is in very good condition with original finish. There is some blistering of the finish on the right side of the door. The original paper dials have aged. The hands are original. The movement is signed. The door glasses are original. The calendar drum papers are original with age darkening.

CONDITION: Gilt brass case is in very nice condition with just a very small scratched area on the back of the base. Painted dial is perfect. There is a small tarnish spot inside on the right just below the pendulum. The front glass panel has a small chip on the bottom right corner. It has not been tested.
