DESCRIPTION: Self Winding Clock Company, New York, "No. 10-A Self Winding Clock", spring driven movement with deadbeat escapement and battery wind mechanism in an oak case with 14 inch aluminum dial reading "Official Time / Western Union ".
CONDITION: Case is in excellent condition, the finish having been nicely rubbed down. The aluminum dial is in very fine condition with strong lettering and the slightest of dents near the mounting screws. The case features additional Western Union signage. Original spade hands. The movement looks to be a Style "F" self-winding synchronized movement with Graham escapement and cut steel pinions, running at 120 beats per minute. Movement serial number is 57118. The mechanism has been neatly rewired to take modern D-cell batteries. Large brass-clad pendulum bob with wood pendulum rod. One of the better examples you will find.

CONDITION: Tortoise shell veneer is cracked in many places, with some losses on the candelabra. Enamel dial, hands, and convex beveled glass are very good. The gilding has worn from the cast pieces. There is some loss of black paint on the back of the case. The movement is signed.

CONDITION: Vienna style case in what looks to be walnut in nice condition in an old and possibly original finish. Original painted dial has some loss at the winding arbors, small loss at 11 and 9 o'clock and wear to the chapter ring. Original hands. Movement is stamped 9184. The bottom drop finial is replaced. The crest will need to be reglued into place.

DESCRIPTION: Ansonia Clock Co., New York, "Insult" figural mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement with visible escapement, iron base on cast feet supporting the clock with white enamel dial and Louis XV style hands and a soldier figure with outstretched arm.
CONDITION: The enamel base has been sprayed with flat black paint. The figure and clock case have been sprayed with gold spray paint. The figure is missing the tips of two fingers, the handle of the short sword, and one wing of the griffin on top of the helmet. The white enamel dial is very good, as are the hands. Hanging piece on the right side of the case will need to be reconnected. Correct pendulum, though the rating nut is not right. The movement is signed.

CONDITION: The case is in excellent condition and retains much of its gilt ornamentation. The porcelain dial has two minor hairline cracks, one at 4:30 and one at 10. The hands are original. The four beveled glass panels show no evidence of chipping. The movement is signed.

CONDITION: cast metal figure, clock drum, and applied ornaments have been repainted gold. Portions of the black iron base have scratched paint. Figure appears to be in good condition. Enameled dial is very good. Hands and pendulum are correct. The movement is signed. In the Roman pantheon, Mercury was the god of commerce, eloquence, messages, communication, travelers, boundaries, luck, and trickery.

CONDITION: The case has a good original finish. The crest has the start of a horizontal split, but is still intact. A glue block is missing behind the crest. The front portion of the molding on the upper left is absent, but does not stand out. The original paper dial is worn on the left side. Pendulum stick is mismatched and probably a replacement. Blued steel spade hands are original. Good rear paper label by Metropolitan. Movement is signed by Ansonia. This model was sold by Ansonia as the "Rio ".

CONDITION: case retains remnants of its ebonized surface, rear feet replaced, case with minor dings and scratches, caddy top with a more severe dent and minor loss, finials replaced, handle on backwards, dial with minor tarnish and losses to silvering, hands with minor loss to blue, movement with fingerprint stains, ticking, strike and repeat functional, gathering pallet not moving rack far enough for successive teeth to reach hook, and so strikes until the spring winds down, stopwork removed

DESCRIPTION: Austria, bracket clock, 30 hour, time and Viennese grand sonnerie strike, three train spring driven movement with verge escapement in hardwood case on ebonized turned feet, molded base and cornice, stop-chamfered front corners, glazed sizes, and stepped top with carrying handle, partially silvered brass dial surround with applied arcaded silvered chapter ring showing Roman numerals, aperture with faux pendulum, and pierced gilt hands.
CONDITION: Case would originally have been ebonized and is now naturual wood color with a smooth finish. Broken arch dial mask is cracked and repaired in several places. The pendulum has a soldered repair near where it connects to the pallet arbor. Dial is attractive but likely restored. Clock strikes the quarters first, then the hours.

CONDITION: Refinished mahogany and mahogany veneered case has had repairs on the bottom door. There is an age crack at the top door. Both tablets are replaced, but done on old glass. The case likely had black & gilt glasses originally as the wood pendulum rod is gilded. Based on the latches the case might have been made by one of the Attleboro makers. The dial appears original, but has repairs at the mounting pins, is age darkened and has surface stains. The signature appears original. The hands are unusual, but appear original.

DESCRIPTION: B.M. & C., France, gallery clock, 8 day, time only, spring driven movement with Brocot deadbeat escapement in a wood case with oak bezel, convex glass, back-painted glass dial with Roman numerals, and blued steel Breguet hands.
CONDITION: The case bezel has been refinished. The backboard has two newer piece on either side that have been carefully glued to the older pieces. The square French movement is signed "B.M. & C." on the front plate. The serial number on the movement is the same as the on stamped in the pendulum ball. Brocot escapement located between the plates does escape. The backboard has three holes where the movement was once mounted. Steel door hinges seem a bit out of place. The large convex glass is in very good condition, remounted with small nails and cork at some point. The back-painted glass dial is very good.

CONDITION: Mahogany and what they called "Zebra" wood but is probably Ash with an old finish and some repairs on base and upper left side. Original painted tablet. Dial plate is original, but repainted. Replaced hands. Gong base and hands are replacement. It appears there was a cross strip that supported the dial that is now missing. Gong and pendulum are missing. Many, perhaps most of this model was shipped to England and sold there.

CONDITION: black phenolic case is a bit spotted. Dial is in very good condition. Gold hands slightly tarnished. Vertical rate adjustment. Movement is signed and stamped with serial number 367055. Movement ticks when wound, but was not tested long term.
