Condition Report For Lot# 830 :
the case appears American with a poplar backboard. Benjamin Mends came to Philadelphia circa 1795 for a time, as his sister had married and settled there permanently. Mends have established some trade there for his movements. This clock has a Pennsylvania look, but the dial is English and signed Plymouth. The scroll top case retains a great old finish, has a pinwheel in the base and other inlay, and is in good condition except the feet may have been reduced slightly. The top rear board on the hood is absent. The dial has loss and calendar numerals are very faded, but could be restored nicely. Ht 92 1/2" Width 17"
