Condition Report For Lot# 1039 :
the torch which normally carries the suspension stud broke away, and someone fashioned a new holder that attaches via a hole in lady's hand. It seems strong enough for the job. The statue has been recently repainted and the paint on the ball is new as well; artists name "Auguste Moreau" shows clearly in the casting. A small brass label on the base [original] identifies the statue as DIANE, par Aug. Moreau. Brass parts on the arm and ball numbered 3077; the ball has been repainted, dark green. Typical French movement with short inside pendulum. Note fancy and delicate lyre shaped brass hands. Overall a good looking and uncommon swing clock with acceptable restoration. Ht 33"
