Condition Report For Lot# 862 :
Mahogany and mahogany veneered banded case in very nice condition in original finish. Original painted dial with some small loss at the mounting screws, at the winding arbor and in a couple spots on the edge. Hands are original. Original tablets in very fine condition. Nickel plated movement is signed. Geneva stop gear is missing. Original eagle finial. Note John Frederic Osborn was born Jan. 24, 1873 at Cambridge, Mass. He married Lucia Lincoln Boggs (1875-1950). He became a cadet in Dec., 1897 and served in the Spanish-American War in 1899 and in 1916 in Mexican Border service. He served as a Captain in the 101st Massachusetts Engineers during World War I and was promoted to Major in 1918 and to a Colonel in 1919. He died Mar. 19, 1932 at Chelsea, MA and was buried in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Mass. Ht 40"
