CASE: Minor scratches on outer surface of case; Plastic crystal; Scratches on crystal; Precious metal content marked; Diamonds tested; Dirty. DIAL: Markers with minor spots and haze; A few minor spots and fine scratches on dial, otherwise very good. HANDS: Very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: A few minor scratches, otherwise very good. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks). This watch was presented to Fred Scheerle (1904-1989) of New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was a native of Germany and came to the US in 1923. Many immigrants formed Turnverien societies in the cities they settled. Members were known as "Turners" (German for gymnasts). These were athletic, political and social societies similar to those what had been established in Germany in the 1820's.
