HANDS: good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Specks of dirt / dust. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks); Balance rim bent. Joseph Stadtfield, son of Moses [Moritz] Stanfield, a native of Austria and Pittsburgh furniture dealer, was born August 12, 1861 in New York. Joseph became a lawyer and had his own office at Pittsburgh, PA by 1900. He was appointed to the state Superior Court in 1931 by 1932 he was a Judge of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He was twice president of the Allegheny County Bar Association and Vice-President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He collapsed and died while walking on Broad Street, Philadelphia during a visit or business on Dec. 13, 1943, age 82.
