Condition Report For Lot# 1019 :
the cabinet maker who made the base did a good job of matching the style, carvings and color, but left the grain a bit open. He also refinished the rear of both sections to blend his work. The top rear of the case retains its original wall hanging bracket [although many Howard floor clocks do have this bracket for additional stability] Our best appraisal of the case is that the main portion was made around 1925 and the base made around 1960. Movement is a large, high quality #1, winding at 3, seconds beating, and with dead beat escapement and maintaining power. Weight is iron with a cast in "1". Runs robustly. Ht 88" (will fit almost any house)
