Condition Report For Lot# 527:
the case has shell-veneer repair to the lower right side of case with minor flaking elsewhere (bits collected in plastic bag) and the back door and pendulum are probably later replacements. The brass below the dial is intricately engraved while the the outer dial is marked 1 to 60 and the inner dial was cast in scientific/ floral motif, nicely chased. There are eight cast brass finials on case top, one of which is a replacement and one is repaired. The serpentine style hands are later. Rt front foot mounting is bent. Was ticking briskly while being cataloged. This is an impressive early piece in generally sound condition. For a similar example see page 108 in Tardy's "La Pendule Francaise" volume 1. Ht 23"
