DESCRIPTION: Clock movement holder, cast iron and brass adjustable movement test stand suitable for round French movements, an unsigned copy of similar design made by John Howland of Boston.
CONDITION: black paint scratched in many places. Height adjustment screw turns freely. A useful tool for the repairer.

DESCRIPTION: 2 (Two) Clock Dials: (1) Dial for wooden works 30 hour, time and strike tall clock, wood substrate with painted cream-colored background, floral decorations at the corners, painted faux winding arbors, pastoral scene in the arch, subsidiary dials for seconds and date. (2) Dial for wooden works 30 hour, time and strike tall clock, wood substrate with painted cream-colored background, painted scroll designs at the corners, painted faux winding arbors, floral design in the arch, subsidiary dial for seconds, and small square date aperture.
CONDITION: (1) Holes added for time and strike winding arbors, probably an 8 day spring-driven movement. Thin split in the wood through the arch. Some scratches to the dial. There is about .5 inches of paint loss along the right edge. Paint flaking off in small spots near the 6:00 position Modified and replaced horizontal supports on the back of the dial. Attractive scene with trees and houses in the arch. (2) Some loss of paint along the edges of the dial. Large screw holes in four places. Some transparent tape residue on the upper left side. Gold and red colors still vibrant.

CONDITION: Solidly made bench shows wear from age and use. Hard rubber top is marred from use. Drawer faces have craquelure. Roll top is somewhat difficult to close once it has been opened.

DESCRIPTION: Domes- 3 (Three) Rectangular with Bases: (1) Rectangular style dome, 12 inches by 10 inches at the base by 15.5 inches high on 4.5 inch tall grain-painted wood base with turned feet, topped with red velvet. (2) Rectangular style dome, 8 inches by 5 inches at the base by 13 inches high on a molded ebonized base with turned feet. (3) Rectangular style dome, 8 inches by 5.5 inches at the base by 12 inches high on a molded ebonized base.
CONDITION: Sold "as is". These rectangular domes were often used for French portico and French gilt metal clocks. If those clocks are found with no bezel with glass over the dial and no rear door, these clocks were originally under a dome to protect their movements and gilt decoration from dust and dirt. Unfortunately a large percentage of them have now lost their domes and replacements are difficult to find.

CONDITION: enamel dial is dirty, but in very good condition otherwise. Tarnish on brass bezel, pendulum, and weight. Light rust on steel rods within the gridiron.

CONDITION: The signed movement is dirty and could use service. The steel rods in pendulum gridiron are rusty and it will need a suspension spring. The dial is in very good condition but the hands are absent. Dimensions provided are for the dial / movement. Sold "as is".
