DESCRIPTION: Barkus Horological Laboratories, San Diego, CA, "Barkus Hand Model Escapement", oversized adjustable lever escapement model made from aluminum, acrylic, and stainless steel, housed in a finger jointed wood case with lid, 1948 hardcover copy of "Know the Escapement" by Sarah and Homer Barkus.
CONDITION: model is in excellent condition, showing only the slightest signs of use. This is a particularly nice example with a black metal base and wood case. The wood case is a little worn at the edges and corners. Sixth edition of the book, good condition with some browning of the first and last pages and shelf wear. Clean pages. Inside front of binding is starting to separate. Dimensions provided are for the wood case.
