DESCRIPTION: Rural Massachusetts or Maine or New Hampshire, Massachusetts-style shelf clock, 6 (yes 6) day, weight driven brass movement in a birch case with a painted iron dial and steel hands.
CONDITION: The case looks birch with a possibly original finish. There is a little damage at the upper left corner on the base. The painted iron dial is rough on the back and not much better on the front as evidenced by the rough surface finish. The numbers are worn. Original hands. The movement is composed of brass plates with turned iron pillars. Original pendulum and weight. The brass finial is not original. The movement runs 6 days on a winding.
