DESCRIPTION: Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., "12E Deck & Engine Room Clock", 8 day, time only, spring driven movement with jeweled lever escapement and center seconds in a brass case with hinged bezel, 8.5 inch silvered dial signed by the maker and "U.S. Government" with black Arabic numerals, movement serial number 599362, c1954.
CONDITION: Heavy brass case has a hazy finish with some dark spots of oxidation on the rear flange. The serial number stamped on the back of case matches the one stamped on the rear plate of the movement. The silvered dial has some yellowing and dark spots. Hands are are good. The 12E movement ticks briskly.
