DESCRIPTION: Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster, Penn., "914", 12 size, 17 jewels, stem wind and set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws and whiplash micrometric regulator in a 14 karat, yellow gold, hinged back and bezel open face case, Arabic numeral, outer red 5-minute markers, single sunk white enamel dial, plum colored steel spade hands, serial #1770045, 69.1g TW, c1915, with original silk and velvet lined mahogany box and certificate, and associated outer cardboard box.
CONDITION: CASE: Small flat spot on band; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on cuvette; Bow worn; Crown worn through; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Cracks in enamel; Chip at edge, 8:00. HANDS: Oxidation, tip of minute. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Crown wheel with spot of oxide; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks), low balance amplitude, needs service. Outer box with wear and staining, inner box and certificate good.
