American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham Mass., "Premier Maximus" with original box, 16 size, 23 jewels, stem wind and set, adjusted to 5 positions, temperature and isochronism, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, diamond endstones, cut bimetallic balance, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws and Ohlson micrometric regulator in an 14 karat, yellow gold, hinged back and bezel, open face Premier Maximus case with maker's details engraved on gold cuvette, and Arabic numeral, quadruple sunk white enamel dial, blued steel whip and spade hands, serial #17000084, 92.4g TW, together with its original green leather, silk and velvet lined box and feature card, c1908.
CONDITION: CASE: Minor dent to bezel and band, 4:00; Back with shallow dent; Band with significant dent, 8:00; Dent to band and back cover, 9:00; Pin pricks; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Minor scratches and shallow dent on cuvette; Minor scratches from ratchet wheel on interior of cuvette; Bow with wear; Crown worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel, 1:30, 10:00; Filled chip at wind indicator. HANDS: Oxidation, tip of minute. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches on plate; Fine scratches on winding wheels; Winding wheels with a few faint specks of oxide; Regulator with a few specks of oxide; Crown wheel screw replaced; Minor loss to blacking in engraving; Specks of dirt. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) Box with scuffs and wear, Premier Maximus ribbon at base of lid torn.
