DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham Mass., model 1890 "Riverside Maximus", 6 size, 19 jewels, stem wind and set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement, with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, diamond endstones, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws, gold center wheel and Church micrometric regulator, in a 10 karat, rose gold, engraved hunting case with applied multicolor gold ornament, and small central diamond on back cover, and Arabic numeral, single sunk, O'Hara style multicolor enamel dial, gilt Louis XV style hands, serial #7161088, 55g TW, c1900.
CONDITION: CASE: Case has housed another movement; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Cuvette with crease, minor dents and waves; Front cover repaired at hinge; Bow with wear; Crown with wear; Precious metal content tested. DIAL: Minor scratch, otherwise very good. HANDS: A bit long, otherwise very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches on plate; Regulator assembly with a few specks of oxide; Some screw heads with minor marring. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) A scarce model, total production 500.
