DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co, Waltham, Mass., "Amn. Watch Co." grade model 1872, 16 size, 16 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, ornately damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws, gold center wheel and Fogg tadpole micrometric regulator in an 18 karat, yellow gold, engraved hunting case with rendering of a large church on rear cover and cipher on front, Roman numeral, single sunk white enamel dial, blued steel Breguet style hands, serial #1763096, 132.2g TW, c1885.
CONDITION: CASE: Shallow dents, front and back; Minor waves, back; Scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Engraving with minor wear; Cuvette with shallow dents; Front hinge sticky; One hinge plug absent; Bow worn; Crown shell worn through and with minor losses; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel, light; Flakes in enamel concealed by bezel, 5:30; Flakes at hole in seconds bit. HANDS: Replaced; Oxidation, tip of minute. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches on plate; Scratches on winding wheels; Ratchet wheel with replaced screw, washer missing; Regulator assembly and winding wheels with specks of oxide; Specks of dirt. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
