DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., model 1899 "Riverside Maximus", 16 size, 23 jewels, stem wind and set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement, with lever escapement, diamond endstones, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws, gold wheel train and whiplash micrometric regulator, in a Dennison, hallmarked 9 karat yellow gold, hinged back and snap bezel, plain polished open face case, and Arabic numeral, double sunk white enamel dial, plum colored steel moon hands, serial #16071421, 87g TW, c1910.
CONDITION: CASE: Fine scratches and scuffs; Case knife marks; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Crystal with minor scratches and small chip; Hinge loose; Crown beginning to wear through; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Very good. HANDS: Specks of oxide. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine marks and scratches on plate; Heavy scratch on center bridge; Very fine scratches on winding wheels; Winding wheels with a few specks of oxide; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide; Loss to blacking in engraving; Balance endstone setting with minor marring; Specks of dirt. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
