DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham Mass., model 1908 "Riverside Maximus", 16 size, 23 jewels, stem wind and set, adjusted, ornately damascened nickel plate movement, with lever escapement, diamond endstones, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws, gold wheel train and whiplash micrometric regulator, in a hallmarked, Dennison 18 karat yellow gold, reeded edge, engine turned and engraved hunting case, and Arabic numeral, outer red five minute markers, single sunk white enamel dial, blued steel spade hands, serial #17083553, 106.3g TW, c1910.
CONDITION: CASE: A few small, shallow dents; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on inner surface of case; Front cover with compression/ distortion just above and parallel to hinge; Front cover with gap at band when closed; Front cover opens beyond 90 degrees, 95- 100 deg.; Plastic crystal with scratches; Bezel with glue residue; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Dial does not have script signature. Flakes in enamel concealed by bezel, 1:00. HANDS: Mismatched; Oxidation. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Ratchet wheel with a few minor spots of oxide; Case screw replaced; Specks of dirt / dust. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
