DESCRIPTION: England, a monumental, quarter chiming table or bracket clock, the rosewood veneered and grain painted architectural case with molded base supporting a pair of columns with carved capitals below the carved entablature and broken pediment top, the sides with pierced, textile backed fret, composite dial with silvered roman numeral chapter ring, and subsidiary chime control and regulation at top, the dial also bearing an engraved plaque "The Association of Diamond Merchants, Jewellers, and Silversmiths, 6, Grand Hotel Buildings, Trafalgar Square, London", three train fusee movement chiming on eight bells or four gongs, and striking the hours on a larger, fifth gong
CONDITION: case with worm holes, minor scrapes, bumps and dings, minor veneer losses, right side of frieze with opaque coating, left side fret with repair, front door lock broken, door edge with minor marring from screwdriver, hinges loose, dial with minor tarnish and loss to gilding, hands with minor oxide, movement dirty, steel components with patchy rust, movement dirty, will tick, strike, and chime with encouragement, suspension spring broken, gong hammer damper detached, needs service.
