DESCRIPTION: Ball Watch Co., Cleveland, Ohio, Ball- Waltham "Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen", 16 size, 17 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, circular damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws and whiplash micrometric regulator in a silveroid, Ball Model, screw back and bezel open face case, the back engraved "Herron Bros. Co. 30 Centralia, Ill.", arabic numeral, single sunk, white enamel dial with polychrome BRT insignia, blued steel spade hands, serial #B0056865, c1900.
CONDITION: CASE: Case has housed another movement; Dings; Scratches and imperfections on outer surface of case; Minor scratches on inner surface of case; Crown worn. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel, 3:00, 5:00, 8:00; Flake in enamel concealed by bezel, 9:00; Scratches. HANDS: Mismatched; Minute short. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor marks and scratches on plate; Edge of barrel bridge marred at regulator screw; Winding wheels with specks of oxide; Ratchet wheel replaced, incorrectly refinished; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide; Case screw replaced; Center jewel cracked. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
