DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 4 (Four): (1) Seth Thomas Clock Co., (for S. J. Southworth, Leeds County, Canada West) "Rose Column" clock with a weight driven, 8 day, time and strike movement in a rosewood veneered case, c1865. (2) Unidentified miniature OOG shelf clock with a spring driven, 30 hour, time and strike movement in a mahogaNew York and birdseye maple case, c1865. (3) Henry Sperry, 18 Maiden Lane, New York, miniature OOG shelf clock with a spring driven, 30 hour, time and strike movement in a mahogaNew York and birdseye maple case, c1855. (4) Sperry & Shaw, 10 Cortlandt St., New York, New York Style 4 column shelf clock with a weight driven, 30 hour, time and strike movement in a mahogaNew York and rosewood veneered case, c1845
CONDITION: (1) The case is in good condition with a light finish remaining. There is veneer loss along the base and at the right cornice return. The original painted dial shows some wear and restoration. The hour hand is original while the minute hand is a replacement. The movement is signed. The door glasses are original. (2) The birdseye maple veneer is in somewhat rough condition. The original painted dial shows loss at the winding holes. The hands are replaced. The door glasses are original. (3) The case is in good condition but has veneer lifting on the round banding. The original painted dial shows some paint loss. The hands are replaced. The door glasses are original. (4) The case is in good condition with a newer finish. The original painted dial is in nice condition with some loss at the mounting holes. The hands are original. The door glasses are original. The movement is signed "Sperry & Shaw, New York".
