DESCRIPTION: Instruments- 2 (Two) Brass Binnacles: John E. Hand, Philadelphia, gimbal-mounted 6.5 inch wet-card compasses within heavy brass bases, one nickel plated, dome tops with knurled hand screws and sliding doors to cover viewing port, both electrically illuminated.
CONDITION: One of the binnacles has a nickel plated stand and unplated brass lid. The edge of the stand has a large flat dent which prevents the lid from closing in that direction. The compass in the all brass binnacle will need to be reinstalled properly. Both power cords for the light bulbs have been cut. Both compasses appear to work, but were not tested extensively.
