DESCRIPTION: T.S. & J.D. Negus, New York, two day marine chronometer, 11 jewel fusee movement with spotted plates, Earnshaw's escapement, freesprung, cut bimetallic "H" balance, diamond endstone, and blued steel helical balance spring, Roman numeral silvered dial with wind indicator and gold spade and poker hands, contained in a gimballed, lacquered brass bowl, all in a three tier mahogany box with brass furniture, serial #2062
CONDITION: running, movement with strong whale oil odor, plates with minor discoloration and staining, balance cock with L shaped slot and empty screwhole opposite stud, dial resilvered and with minor scratches and discoloration, hands good, bowl and gimbals with some discoloration and tarnish, box with scrapes and scratches, inlaid brass ornament on top missing, the recess now filled with putty
