DESCRIPTION: France, a petite sonnerie striking carriage clock with grand sonnerie repeating, polished brass Corniche case with bevelled glasses, the top engraved "J. K. Connally, Oct. 7, 1897", Roman numeral white enamel dial with gilt mask and subsidiary alarm dial, blued steel hands, 8 day, time, strike and alarm movement with lever platform, sounding the quarters in passing, and repeating the last hour and quarter on demand
CONDITION: case polished and lacquered, lacquer with dust and orange peel, carrying handle mounted backwards, rear glass with minor chip at lower left corner, alarm dial restored hands painted black, alarm hand replaced, movement running, steel with minor spots of oxide and marks from careless handling, platform lacking plating, endstone setting cracked, quarters sound correctly, but without dead blow, repeating sometimes strikes correctly, but without dead blow, quarters sound in reverse (low/high), strikes quarters instead of hours at hour, alarm functional, needs service and repairs
