DESCRIPTION: Derry Mfg. Co., Derry, NH, for Bigelow, Kennard & Co., Boston, Patent timepiece or banjo clock, 8 day, time only, weight-driven movement in a mahogany case with painted metal dial and reverse painted glass tablets depicting Hull's Victory in a naval battle of the War of 1812, c1910.
CONDITION: The case has its original finish with a few minor scratches and losses. The two tablets have been expertly touched up. The signed painted dial has a tiny amount of paint loss around the mounting screws. The nicely made movement, stamped "680", is mounted to a thin piece of plywood which seems typical of this company. The movement is signed by the Derry Manufacturing Co., a firm that was acquired by Herschede in 1912.
