DESCRIPTION: Charles Frodsham, 84 Strand, London, a keyless, reverse fusee, spring detent pocket chronometer, 15- 16 jewels, stem wind and pin set gilt plate movement with Earnshaw's escapement, free sprung cut bimetallic balance with gold timing screws, helical balance spring and diamond endstone in an 18 karat, yellow gold, plain polished hunting case with London hallmark and date letter for the year 1885, and Roman numeral, single sunk, white enamel dial, blued steel spade and whip hands, serial #04190, 51mm, 137.6g TW.
CONDITION: CASE: A few minor dings; Minor scratches on outer surface of case; A few short scratches on front cover; Front with minor gap at band when closed; Bow with wear; Crown worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Hairlines at edge, 1:00- 3:00, 4:00- 7:00; Hairline in enamel, 4:00; Chip at edge, 3:00; Loss at edge, 5:00- 6:00. HANDS: Very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Very fine scratches on plate; Balance cock foot with a few minor marks. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
