DESCRIPTION: Gustav Becker, Freiburg, Germany, Vienna style wall clock, 8 day, time and strike (on a single chime rod), spring driven movement in a second Baroque style walnut case with short tapered columns and carved crest, embossed brass pendulum, cream porcelain dial and blued steel hands.
CONDITION: The case has an old finish with a few bumps and nicks. There is a large split in the back on the lower right side. There are smaller splits in the wood above and below the dial opening. The porcelain dial is very good. Door glass is old and wavy. The back of the movement is stamped with the Becker trademark, the Medaille d'Or award, and movement serial number 416713. The movement ticks and strikes, if a bit sluggishly.

CONDITION: the case retains its original finish. The dial retains its original paint with loss to Tiffany signature. The reverse painted tablets have flaking. The lower tablet has been stabilized.

CONDITION: Refinished walnut case in nice condition. Both paper dials look restored. Original hands. Bottom bracket is a proper modern replacement. A small piece of molding on the right side and the finial are replaced. The top crest may be replaced.

DESCRIPTION: Jaeger- LeCoultre, Switzerland, "Atmos" clock, 15 jewel, caliber 526-5 movement, gilt torsion pendulum, round white painted dial with applied gilt Arabic numerals and arrow markers, gilt hands, all contained in a glazed rectangular case, movement serial #83424.
CONDITION: Gilt brass case has deterioration of the lacquer finish and some loss to the gilt finish on the left corner. The front door is missing although two of the brass members that make up the door frame are included. Original painted dial has some minor loss at 3 o'clock. The clock runs, but was not tested long term.

DESCRIPTION: Japy Freres, Paris, figural mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring-driven, pendule de Paris movement in a cast spelter case signed "Ph. Mourey" having a Rococo base with two child figures blowing horns, three polychrome painted porcelain panels with putti figures, and topped by the figure of a child feeding grapes to a goat. Comes with associated wood base.
CONDITION: the case has many loose piece. One finial is missing from the lower right side. Gold finish is missing in several spots on case. Blue material around numerals has chipped off in places. Suspension spring is broken. Hands have been put on at the wrong angle. Pendulum rod has broken in two. Signed Japy movement ticks and strikes but was not tested extensively.

Original dial has some surface roughness and an overcoat clear finish. There is some damage to the bottom board. Small brass block that holds the pendulum down is missing. Movement is signed. This company, formed by George Roland Smith Killam, was in business from 1902-1916

CONDITION: The case retains its original finish with minor veneer loss in several areas. The columns originally had some gilt design which has mostly worn away. The dial has been repainted. The hour hand is original. The minute hand, while period, does not match. All three door glasses are original with the middle and lower green glasses in exceptional condition with very minor loss to the lower glass. There is an excellent label inside the case.

CONDITION: Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish has some small chips on the bottom edge. The case is unusual in that the case sides and parts of the front are veneered in birds eye maple. Both paw feet have damage to one of the toes. Painted dial has lost the strike side brass winding key escutcheon. Original hands. Mirror is period and looks original. Wood movement period, but not type used by Whiting. Clean label inside.

CONDITION: The case has been refinished with some restoration. The crest is new. The piece that supports the dial pan has been replaced with a thicker piece of wood and in turn mounting blocks had to be added to adjust the movement to the correct height. The dial is new. The hands are correct type, but possible replacements. The movement is signed.

Original painted dial has scattered loss and inpainting in the center area. Original bottom Fenn tablet. Original tablet in top has some background loss. Clean label inside. Movement is signed. This was Seth Thomas's version of the steeple clock. The company did not introduced a typical style steeple until years later.

CONDITION: Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish has a broken tip and a repair on the skirt, the feet have been shortened and poor repair to the scrolls. One side return is missing. Original tablet has heavy loss. The dial is probably original to the case with scattered loss and wear to chapter ring and plugged holes that indicate this case may have had another movement at one time. The current movement was made by Seth Thomas. Hands look to be modern replacements. Dust cover behind the movement is missing. Period set of Terry type finials that most likely not original as they are the wrong type for this maker. Clean label inside.

CONDITION: The wood case is in very good condition and has been repainted an appropriate black color. Its elegant cast mounts and pendulum retain a bright old patina. The silvered dial is very slightly tarnished. Originally, this clock would have been under a large glass dome. The movement, which is signed on the front plate, has been recently serviced. The clock ticks and strikes.

CONDITION: The case is in very good condition with some old finish remaining. The original painted dial has loss around the center post while the original painted calendar dial has loss at the four mounting holes. Note the circular door on the back side of the case to afford access to the verge on the back side of the movement, a standard feature on many of the Waterbury calendar clocks.

The door glass is original, but the advertising was added later. The hands are correct.

(2) Marti & Cie, Paris, mantel clock, 8 day, time and bell strike, spring driven movement with exposed Brocot escapement in an incised black slate case with a stepped and molded base, sunk dial surrounded by a white enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals, blued steel Breguet style hands, c1880.
CONDITION: (1) Bezel has a crack on the right side that has been repaired. Glass will need to be remounted. Old paper dial has darkened. Key and pendulum are of the correct French type. Movement ticks and strikes, but was not tested long term. (2) There is a repaired chip on the upper right side about 1.5 inches long. The case is otherwise complete and in good condition. The gold color within the incised design is faded. Dial and hands are excellent. Escapement has pallet jewels. Bezel with a dark patina. Front and rear glasses are good.
