Condition Report For Lot# 914 :
the case in overall very good condition retains its original finish and finials and has minor veneer splitting on top. The bottom is a professional replacement, but done to the highest quality and virtually undetectable. The dial has several small spots of inpainting and a replaced minute hand. The pendulum bob has a dent that can be corrected. The pendulum rod has a repair behind the bob. This is a very nice example of an early model manufactured in 1874 or 1875 with the unusual "upside down" movement that winds at 1 and 11 o'clock. Please see Tran Duy Ly's "Welch Clocks" page 238 for reference.
