Condition Report For Lot# 658 :
the case has been refinished with a rebuilt sarcophagus top. There is a repair to the upper left and side of the outer trunk door. The trunk door lock has been raised. The feet have been replaced. The minute hand has solder repair. The movement is typical of Aaron Miller, who was one of New Jersey's earlier clockmakers and father-in-law of clockmaker Isaac Brokaw (clock also in this sale): It has square dial mounting posts and wooden winding drums. Please see William Drost's "Clocks and Watches of New Jersey" page 169 for a very similar example.
