Condition Report For Lot# 657 :
the case in good condition with some minor splits on plinth and hood and has been refinished about 60 years ago. The bracket base appears to be original but has lost an inch. The trunk door has a small repair near lock. The movement appears complete and in good condition. The disc of the moon phase is in good condition. The hands are replaced and there is touch up on numerals that should be improved. The weights and pendulum are period. The signature on the dial is original and appears to be "No. 6". We are also selling Herwick's No. 15 in this sale. William Herwick, Sr. (1770-1833) listed in Bailey & Spittler's "American Clock and Watch Makers" working from 1801 to 1833 and active with his son William Herwick Jr. of Uniontown, Penn.
