Condition Report For Lot# 621 :
(1) the brass finish is slightly tarnished but retains a nice glossy patina. The silvered dial has many tarnish spots. All the beveled glass panels are good, but the gong stand is loose where it attaches to the case top. The movement ticks and strikes, but not tested long term; its simulated mercury pendulum is fine. Ht 9 3/4" (2) the original black surface is mostly intact, with a few small areas of finish loss. The cast metal ornamental plates look good, as does the beaded bezel. The thick beveled glass has a chip; the white enamel dial has a few hairlines and chips. The visible pallets are steel. The movement ticks and strikes, but the pendulum is absent and it was not tested further. A nearly complete rear paper label confirms the model name. Ht 16 1/2" (3) the original black surface has minor wear and losses, and some of the incised gold is present. The seated top figure, not shown in the Kroeber book, but usually optional, is intact and retains an old patina. The signed white enamel dial has several cracks and visible repairs; the glass in its beaded bezel is okay. The movement ticks and strikes but was not tested long term Ht 16 1/4"
