Condition Report For Lot# 838 :
the case has an old gold painted finish, nicely buffed to give an aged look. The tablets are repainted in the proper style. The movement is original to the case and is similar to those produced by Joshua Seward, Boston, Mass with split screw projecting through the back plate where it is pinned to hold movement in place. For reference please see Paul Foley's, "Patent Timepieces", page 66. This same clock sold for $3300 plus 10% buyer's premium in our April 21st & 22nd, 2007 auction (lot 499). Ht 40"
