Junghans, Germany, "Diana", swinging arm novelty 8 day timepiece. The patinated spelter statue is affixed to a turned wooden base and a small well made movement is housed in the top of the 'clock arm'.

French, Empire style lyre mantel clock, with knife edge suspension of pendulum above the dial, 8 day spring, movement numbered 210. The case profusely decorated with acanthus leaves, pineapples to the right and left of the top, and each column surmounted by a small urn with floral display, c1830

French, Annular dial timepiece, in a brass case with bronze serpent coiled 'round the base and pointing to the time ring with his tongue. Single silvered brass time ring shows the hours. Winding, setting and regulation are accomplished by removing the domed top, which is flanked by two female caryatids. A button in the rear can be pulled gently to re-start the balance if movement has wound down, c1875

French, L'Elephant, in the style of a century earlier, bronze & ormolu, the clock mounted above the elephant, surmounted by a winged cherub. The pendulum extends from the movement down through a hole in the top of the elephant (original) and saddle , thus invisible from the outside. The dial with royal blue numerals on fired porcelain cartouches. Original name on dial not legible, however Paris can be read. Case components bear 3 letters L.L.A., c1870

French, Planchon, Paris, in the style of Lepaute, an architectural mantle regulator, 8-day gong striking. Planchon is well known for making in the last quarter of the 1800s, all the styles of clocks that had been popular a century earlier, and he specialized in models that might appear in the Louvre. The movement was provided by Vincenti, c1875

French, Signed Lepine, 4 column Empire style mantel regulator, ormolu case and with pinwheel, 30 day movement and with a compensating grid pendulum with unique temperature variation scale on the front of the pendulum bob, showing from zero change (at top) to a max of plus or minus 40 degrees (at the bottom). Wording is in French (Froid . de Chaud). The pendulum with knife edge suspension, and the dial showing center seconds, the escape wheel having 60 pins and rotating once per minute, c1825
