Condition Report For Lot# 278:
there are small number minor nicks in the optical tube and a couple of dimples in the focus tube. Small chip in objective lens, out of the line of view. Normally the image in such a scope is inverted, however this unit includes an "inverter" tube, which may be missing a lens, since we can only get a good view through the scope with the inverter removed. Overall a good period piece in very good original condition. Note tripod standard and hardware are brass, and feet are iron. Cox was a reputable English firm that made scales, drawing equipment, microscopes, binoculars and telescopes throughout the 1800s. Ht of tripod = 19"
