Condition Report For Lot# 97:
GRO (winds, sets and ticks) the mvt is in very good condition with a few very fine scratches, some almost negligible spotting and several small patches of oxidation, specifically near the Patent and Boston marks, near the jewel for the third wheel and on some of the bright work. This mvt has the unusual and very desirable upright / horizontal pallet jewels on the pallet fork. The very heavy ORIGINAL case has the ET worn smooth and now has a plain polished appearance with no dents nor dings and an almost startlingly beautifully engraved cuvette, which hints at the former workmanship on the case engraving. The dial is near mint, the slightest bit faded but no hairlines nor other flaws. The bow and crystal are in good condition. The blued steel spade hands are in good condition with a little loss to the bluing. This is a 2-star watch in Shugart, Engle and Gilbert's "WATCHES" price guide. Early Howard's in this type of excellent original condition rarely come to market, don't miss the opportunity to own this watch that warrants no apologies.
Estimate: $7000 - $9000
